Chris Stinson

Producer

Many moons ago with the long term goal of producing independent feature films Chris drove his little Ford Escort from New Hampshire to Hollywood California and quickly found himself working as an assistant director on feature films.  He eventually moved into the production side of filmmaking starting out as a production coordinator and continued into production management and is currently line producing and producing independent feature films and commercials.  In the ten years he’s been in Los Angeles he has worked on more than 30 feature films in various capacities.

Some of the feature films Chris has been a part of include ME AND YOU AND EVERYONE WE KNOW, winner of the 2005 Sundance Special Jury Prize, and the 2005 Camera d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival and HARSH TIMES, starring Christian Bale and Eva Longoria.  In 2006 Chris line produced two feature films, THE HAMMER, starring Adam Carolla and directed by Charles Wurmfeld, and ADVENTURES OF POWER, starring Adrian Grenier and directed by Ari Gold.  He also production supervised, IF I HAD KNOWN I’M A GENIUS, starring Sharon Stone, Whoopi Goldberg, and Tara Reid, which premiered at Sundance in 2007.

2007 seems to be the year of the shorts for Chris.  Two short films that Chris produced are both on their way to becoming feature films, Scott Keiner’s SIZZLEAN and Joshua Leonard’s SPECTACULAR REGRET.  He also line produced the Glamour Reel Moments Film Series.  This year’s directors included Rita Wilson, Kate Hudson and Kirsten Dunst.  Rita Wilson's film is titled THE TRAP and stars Channing Tatum and Jeanne Tripplehorn.  Kate Hudson directed CUTLASS, starring Kurt Russell, Chevy Chase, Virginia Madsen and Dakota Fanning.  Kirsten Dunst directed the ghost story WELCOME, starring Winona Ryder

Chris is currently prepping two feature films as the line producer with producer Gina Kwon, Miranda July’s FEARLESS and also Miguel Arteta’s TOGETHER through Fox Searchlight.

Between line producing projects Chris is developing films to produce.  A feature he co-produced in 2006, UNDOING, which premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival, has an upcoming theatrical release.  In 2005, Chris was chosen as one of ten producers to participate in the IFP/FIND Producer’s Lab with the projects WE ARE THE MODS, producing with Miguel Arteta and Scott Keiner’s SIZZLEAN.  He is the co-founder of Live Free Or Die Films, a film company under which he currently has two films in development; SUBURBS OF HEAVEN, a New Hampshire based novel adaptation written by Merle Drown and Chris Clancy and SIZZLEAN, written by Scott Keiner.  Chris is happy.
